Description
Phlomoides tuberosa is a perennial herb with a robust, upright stem that can grow up to 1.5 metres tall. It features large, heart-shaped leaves and produces striking pink to purple flowers arranged in dense whorls. The plant is known for its tuberous roots which are often thick and fleshy.
Distribution
This species is native to central Asia and is found in regions such as China, Mongolia, and Siberia. It typically grows in open grasslands and forest edges at altitudes ranging from 1,000 to 2,800 metres.
