Description
A scrambling perennial with small, star-shaped white flowers, often forming mats in hedgerows and grassy areas. Related to Galium verum (Lady’s Bedstraw), but with white rather than yellow flowers.
Distribution
Native to the UK and widespread, especially in hedgerows, pastures, and roadside verges.
Medicinal/Other Uses

Historically used for wound care and mild diuretic purposes, as well as for curdling milk in cheesemaking, like other bedstraws.
Edibility
Young shoots sometimes eaten, though not commonly used today.
Human Toxicity
Generally safe, but excessive amounts may cause mild stomach upset.
