Description
Colchicum autumnale is a perennial plant with lilac or pink flowers resembling those of the crocus, but it blooms in autumn. The leaves and flowers emerge separately, with the leaves appearing in spring and dying back before the flowers appear.
Distribution
It is native to much of Europe, including the United Kingdom, and is typically found in damp meadows and woodlands.
