Description
Rowan is a small deciduous tree known for its pinnate leaves and clusters of bright red berries. It typically grows up to 15 metres tall and blooms with white flowers in spring. The tree's berries are a significant food source for birds.
Distribution
Native to cool-temperate regions of Europe and Asia, it is commonly found in mountainous areas and open woodlands.
Medicinal/Other Uses

✅ Traditionally used in folk medicine for treating sore throats and diarrhoea. The berries have also been used to make jams and jellies.

Caution Advised - berries are edible when cooked but can cause stomach upset if eaten raw.
