Description

Gorse is a spiny evergreen shrub with bright yellow flowers and a coconut-like scent. It can grow up to 2.5 metres tall and is commonly found in heathlands, coastal areas, and open woodlands.

Distribution

Native to Western Europe, gorse is now widespread in the UK and has been introduced to other regions such as North America, Australia, and New Zealand.
