Description
An ornamental hybrid geranium known for its strikingly coloured, velvety petals in vivid reds, pinks, and purples. It’s compact and often grown in containers or summer bedding.
Distribution
Originating from hybridisation of South African Pelargonium species, now grown worldwide as a decorative plant.
Medicinal/Other Uses
Some related Pelargonium species have been used traditionally for respiratory ailments, but P. × domesticum is primarily ornamental.
Edibility
Not edible. While some geraniums have aromatic leaves used in flavouring, this hybrid is not suitable for consumption.
